Cruelty-Free 101
When used in this context, “cruelty-free” refers to products that have not been tested on animals, either during the development of the product or at any point during its distribution. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, perfume, nail polish, skin care, body care, and cosmetics are all items that fall under the umbrella term “cosmetics” (lipstick, mascara, etc.).
Every day, both men and women use cosmetics for a variety of reasons, including hygiene, grooming, and beautification, but women are more likely to use cosmetics than men. From the shampoo, conditioner, and soap we use in the shower to the toothpaste, deodorant, perfume, and make-up we use.
